She’s Alive

Hellooooo everyone.

So I’ve clearly been absent from my blog for the past 2 weeks. It started off with me getting the flu and being unproductive for a good while. After I started feeling better I was so busy playing catchup with work, school, art, 2nd job, clothing sales that I never got the chance to sit down and write something down.

Well it’s officially Sunday evening, and I’m exhausted. But I’m totally refusing to go to sleep at a reasonable time…. Because, how can I sleep when I have this much on my mind?!

Well, I’ve been commissioned to create another Ball Hockey Team logo, and I’m super excited. Those are always a lot of fun to do! I will make sure to show you all the finished product.

I also need to try and finish my Boba Fett painting, and the Joker painting this week. It’s likely to be pushed back until next weekend. But I’m working on it!

Lastly, I have a couple DIY projects I’ve been working on, as well as my wardrobe sale endeavor. I’ve sold approximately 15 pieces, already, and I’m not going to lie, I’ve loved every minute of it. Who knew I would be so good at getting rid of my clothing collection? I’m actually quite proud of myself. In the past, I would definitely have considered myself a little bit of a hoarder when it comes to shoes, bags and clothes. PROGRESS!

Today I worked at my part-time gig, and I was really happy to see the team! It’s such a great and positive environment, I love being there on the weekends.

Weekend Adventures

I’m currently in bed, about to take an afternoon Sunday nap, because… on Sunday, I do what I want. Don’t judge me…

My weekend wasn’t as productive as I wanted but it was fun!

Saturday I worked at my part-time gig. On my way to work there was a major accident on the highway and we were stuck in a complete standstill for over 45 minutes… Eventually I made it to work… late, but I brought donuts with me to make up for my tardiness! Professional: level expert.

I definitely took a couple selfies while waiting in traffic, I must say, my hair looked damn good that day!

After work Nick and I went over to Gen and Seb’s. While the boys watched the hockey game, us girls made some homemade bath bombs! We made lavender bath bombs with almond, jojoba and coconut oils! Look how adorable they turned out:

So much fun! I can’t wait to buy some ingredients and start making my own!

This morning I woke up early and I made breakfast which consisted of toast with avocado and an over-easy egg with a side of maple syrup beans and a strawberry & banana smoothie. So delicious I wish I could have that every morning.

Sunday Funday

How have we not abolished Mondays and created 3 day weekends yet? It makes no sense to me.

This Sunday was perfect, I woke up fairly early, made a large pot of coffee, and played my favorite Songza playlist while I pranced around my apartment dusting and sweeping, until every inch of it was spotless!

I love starting the week off with a tidy apartment! No tripping over my blow-dryer trying to sneak out of the bedroom at 6:00 AM, no fumbling in the shower searching for my face wash and especially no frantic searches for my coffee filters.

This morning was amazing, felt like a brand new apartment!

Now, I’m itching to get home tonight, because I have to finish sorting through the last few drawers of clothes before I start posting my for sale ads for the items I no longer need. Don’t worry, I am charitable, I already gave away 2 full bags of clothes, and donated some of my nicer work dresses to a local women’s charity.

But there’s still tons of clothes and shoes I could still get rid of, and if I can put just a bit more money towards my tuition fees, well I’m a happy, happy girl!

It’s going to be a busy February for me, but I’m looking forward to the amazing progress I will be making in the next few weeks.

A Perfect Long Weekend

Thanksgiving weekend just passed, and it was absolutely perfect. It also happened to be my first full weekend off in over a month and a half – so that alone was amazing!

On Friday, all I wanted to do was take my pants off, drink wine and chill on the couch with Nick and the puppies – and that’s exactly what we did.

Saturday was a perfect day, from beginning to end. Nick and I headed to Little Italy and had fresh deli sandwiches from Di Rienzo’s while sitting on a picnic table facing a basketball court. With the red and orange leaves in the background it was a beautiful view. The food was delicious. If you live in the Ottawa region, make sure to check out Di Rienzo’s for the best sandwiches you will ever taste!

After our lovely lunch we drove around Little Italy and Chinatown, and decided to stop and have some gelato. Ever since my trip to Italy I’ve been obsessed with gelato. There, I ate tiramisu gelato, every day, twice a day. Obsessed.

Later on in the night we decided to go out in the market and have some drinks and food while we watched the hockey game. It was a perfect night, a perfect day.

On Sunday, I was viciously hungover, and I headed to my sister’s house to hangout, and run some errands together. We also decided to go on an impromptu adventure to feed the ducks near her house. This involved almost falling into the water a few times, being circled by vicious seagulls, stepping in mud and getting prickly-plants stuck in my leggings. Essentially, my favorite kind of adventure, lots of silliness involved! We eventually managed to get close to some of the ducks and fed them some bread. Afterwards, we did some shopping which involved the usual cry-laughing and creating havoc in the stores. Because, sisters. #FSU

I spent the rest of my night watching movies, playing Borderlands and Army of Two: Devil’s Cartel with Nick.

On Monday we had a puppy spa day at our apartment and gave the girls baths and haircuts. They smell so nice now! Lily however, has never been a huge fan of her grooming process, as you can see in the picture below:

Afterwards, we visited Nick’s parent’s house and had dinner with his family. The food was beyond delicious, and as if turkey dinner couldn’t get any better, dessert was: ICE CREAM CAKE! I’m starting to realize that I have an obsession with anything and everything ice cream related.

It was so nice to spend some time with them and a great way to end my perfect long weekend.
